Six years ago I was caught by Andrew & Jennie as I played my way across America, using ART AS CURRENCY.
They welcomed me into their shop ‘Room Service’ in Cleveland as I walked in off the street saying “Hi, I’m playing a game from New York to Los Angeles…” and they welcomed me into their home in exchange for The Poem of Cleveland which I researched by wandering the town, interviewing people, reading the language of the place, feeling it’s way. Then translating it into the window display you see in this photo. (And we also traded Clowning as Andrew is a kindred playsmith).
As the VicariousIRL game continues to evolve, I salute these early days of playtesting out in the laboratory of Life. Thank you thank you thank you a thousand times Andrew and Jennie for saying “YES and…”
